What is it?

Everything DiSC® 363 for Leaders is a performance management evaluation tool designed to give leaders constructive feedback on their leadership approaches, and helps them discover three personalized strategies to expand their leadership effectiveness.

This feedback tool delivers both qualitative and quantitative data from a 72 item assessment tool.

The Leadership Model
The 363 for Leaders uses a brand new interpersonal leadership model with 8 leadership approaches and 3 practices for each approach. These approaches and their practices are:

The Affirming Approach: Being approachable; Acknowledging contributions; Creating a positive environment.

The Humble Approach: Maintaining composure; Showing modesty; Being fair-minded.

The Resolute Approach: Setting high expectations; Speaking up about problems; Improving methods.

The Energizing Approach: Showing enthusiasm; Building professional networks; Rallying people to achieve goals.

The Inclusive Approach: Staying open to input; Showing diplomacy; Facilitating dialogue.

The Deliberate Approach: Communicating with clarity; Promoting disciplined analysis; Providing a sense of stability.

The Commanding Approach: Showing confidence; Taking charge; Focusing on results.
This model incorporates some of the best ideas of top authors in the leadership field: such as Jack Zenger, Peter Drucker, Jack Welch, and Jim Collins – to name just a few. More details are provided in a “White Paper” available in the resources section of this website.
The Assessment Process
The 363 for Leaders® assessment may be generated
- by a leader (subordinate) and his/her manager; or
-
it may include the leader’s manager, and other raters chosen from groups such as “peers”, “direct reports” or “others”. To protect confidentiality at least two people must be chosen from each of the groups selected.
In both cases the process is similar.
Leader

In the Leader Assessment Experience, leaders are first asked to complete an Everything DiSC personality assessment. This assessment is not included in the final report, but the results are reflected in the narrative feedback provided to the leader.

Leaders are then presented with 72 leadership behavioral statements, and for each, are asked to rate how often they use that behavior on a scale of 1 (never or almost never) to 7 (always or almost always). Results from this section are then used to calculate the self-assessment performance scores on each of the eight approaches and 24 practices, from the 363 Leadership Model.
Raters
- In the Rater Assessment Experience, raters are also presented with 72 leadership behavior statements, and for each statement are asked to rate how often the leader demonstrates that behavior on a scale of 1 (never or almost never) to 7 (always or almost always). Results from this section are used to calculate the rater-assessed performance scores on each of the eight approaches and 24 practices included in the model.
- Because the leader also responds to these same statements, comparisons can be made between “self-assessed” and “rater-assessed” scores.
- Raters are then presented with 24 leadership behaviors and asked if they would like to see the leaders demonstrate these behaviors more often. Participants are given the option to select pre-written comments to give to the leader. These pre-written comments avoid any possible unfortunate, gratuitous comments.
The Report
The final report is a 22+ page document all about the Leader, using the all-new research validated
model. It pulls together qualitative and quantitative data from the 72 item leadership assessment, the CommentSmart™ technology, and Inscape’s hallmark 79 item Everything DiSC® assessment to give leaders an accurate picture of their performance in the interpersonal realm of leadership.
